OUR HISTORY
Established in 2018, Granite Rise Farm is a first-generation family farm; 4 generations of first time farmers living and working together to bring our dream of a sustainable country lifestyle to reality.
Granite Rise Farm occupies 100 acres close to a dormant volcano in the Balliang region of Victoria, with granite rocks and volcanic enriched soil. We are surrounded by national park ranges and scattered woods.
OUR MISSION
We started our farm adventure with no experience and only 'traditional' farming practices in mind. After starting out that way we quickly realised that the 'traditional' farming way was not sustainable for long term farming on a small holding like ours.
And if we are really honest, it didn’t sit well with us to be killing growth in paddocks in order to grow something else... There had to be a way to keep our little family farm ticking over without using poisonous chemicals and ploughing up soil using expensive amounts of fuel and equipment...
